“This Meeting deserves a Gold Medal” - February 22 Gavel Club Meeting

Welcome back Gaveliers!

This week’s meeting was led by Nora and Divya, and the topic for the week was Olympics. We started off with member introductions and had a fantastic time jumping into the theme together.

The meeting started on a high note thanks to our three Jokemasters! Their jokes and riddles weren't just funny, they were thought-provoking, which really got the group involved.

Our two Small Talkers shared a lot of interesting information about the Olympics. One Small Talker spoke about their favourite Olympic sport and what makes it exciting to watch. The other Small Talker focused more on the history of the Olympics, what the Olympics represent, and even explained the types of sports played in the games. Both talks were informative and helped us learn more about the meaning and variety of the Olympic Games.

During Table Topics, members answered many creative and engaging questions, such as: “Do you prefer the Summer or Winter Olympics? If you were in figure skating pairs, who would you want to dance with? Which Olympic sport would you participate in?” These questions led to fun, imaginative and thoughtful responses from everyone.

It was a great meeting full of laughter, learning, and discussion. We concluded by chatting about what we did over the Family Day weekend, and then members selected their roles and chose our next topic for the upcoming meeting: Movies and TV Shows. We have weekly meetings on Sundays, from 1:00 PM-2:00 PM EST!
