Volunteer Spotlight: Faiz Ahmad’s Journey with U+

Faiz Ahmad, a student at St. Robert’s Catholic High School from Thornhill, is gaining valuable experience as a Marketing/Social Media Volunteer with U+. With plans to study business in university, Faiz joined U+ to build practical skills in marketing, outreach, and professional communication.

Through his volunteer role, Faiz has been developing strong networking and outreach skills while learning how to connect with people effectively. He sees these as valuable transferable skills that can support both his future studies and his goal of starting a sports photography business. Reflecting on his journey, Faiz shared, “I’d tell myself to stop procrastinating and wasting time,” recognizing how important it is to make the most of opportunities early on.

Faiz has especially appreciated the positive environment at U+, describing the people he has met as “super kind and some of the most genuine people a person could work with.” He also shared that he has been very happy with “the work, experience, and knowledge” he has gained so far.

One of Faiz’s most memorable moments was visiting the office for the first time on March 7, 2026. Although it felt nerve-racking at first, it quickly became a meaningful experience. He described it as “the beginning of a long term experience for me,” marking an exciting step forward in both his personal and professional growth.
